The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
It is Wednesday.
3 straight days of updating. Either this shows my dedication to my commentary, or this shows that I truly have no life. Sadly, I feel the latter.
Yesterday was not that significant of a day. I am a little worried, however. After drinking something with my mac and cheese last night, I am now down to one (1) Pepsi. For those of you who don’t know, I am most certainly addicted to the sweet, sweet beverages that are Pepsi and Coke. Personally, I have no preference between the two. I do, however, feel like something of a traitor to my generation every time I drink a Coke. I think that’s a natural feeling though…
In the evening, I watched a movie I had not watched for quite some time — Saving Private Ryan. It is quite an excellent movie. Unfortunately, I only have the VHS, which is not Widescreen. Being the film major I WANT to be (I am not actually a film major… long story) I prefer the Widescreen versions. I’ve taken a lot of flak for liking Widescreen stuff lately. I don’t know why anyone would want anything other than what the director intended you to see.
I went to moviemistakes.com while watching the movie, and I must say, I was rather disappointed in their selection of mistakes. Most of the ones they claimed were mistakes, were not actually mistakes. One person even went so far as to describe the “chopper crash” in the movie…. This is a WWII movie. To the best of my knowledge, helicopters were not around back then. I do feel rather comfortable in my self-proclaimed title as “History God”, especially in matters relating to WWII. However, if I am in the wrong this time, please feel free to correct me. I think the best clue is not a chopper is when the pilot refers to it as a “glider”…
Steven Spielburg was criticized heavily for his endpieces that are attached to the movie. Some people went so far as to call it a piece of “Republican Propaganda”. The ironic thing about this: Steven Spielburg is a staunch Democratic supporter.
On the political front of my OU, Campus Republicans are still as one-sided as ever. Also, the College Democrats are one-sided too. Apparently, there is a war brewing between both sides. If I had to choose one side, I would probably go with the Democrats this year. Although I think pretty much all political parties are rather pathetic, the Democrats are the ones least likely to cause the rest of the world to hate the U.S. even MORE.
Class is right now, so I’m finished…
