The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
Yep, it’s Monday yet again.
I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, so I’m pretty tired today. “Not a lot of sleep” should be clarified; I’m talking about what I consider not a lot of sleep. I slept for a total of 6 hours–I’m not sure if that is below average for most people or not. For me that’s a hideously low amount, but for Jacki, that would probably not be enough to facilitate any sort of auditory or verbal response.
In other news, there is no news. I did very little this weekend and it was all I could have ever hoped for. I watched A Clockwork Orange on Saturday night because doing my paper about it on Thursday really put me in the mood for it. On Friday, Betsy came down (she had been in Australia–so is it “she came up“?) and visited with everyone.
Literally–EVERYONE. Apparently, she knows the entire campus.
You may now be asking what it is we (being Angie, Beth, Angie’s cousin Erin and I) did with Betsy. The answer: we played the most amount of board games I have ever played in my entire life. It was OK until about the second or third hour; then, I started getting a little bored with the whole premise. Luckily, the company was entertaining enough, so I didn’t have to focus on what I was doing. Although, I did come extremely close to getting the right answer in Clue (Simpsons Edition, of course). I had two choices left on the location of the murder, so I just guessed becaused I thought everyone else was close as well (turns out they weren’t as close as I had thought). Unfortunately, my guess was wrong. I got everything else right though. Beth won eventually. Oh well, looks like I don’t have the attention span for Clue and I suck. Hopefully, I won’t lose any sleep over this.
On Sunday (remember, Saturday I watched movies and did absolutely nothing), I went to fencing. It was pretty fun albeit the presence of more profanity than a sailor could verbalize in a year. The source of all the F-bombs and “assjerks” (an interesting new word) was none other than Janice. She’s a fencer who likes to curse–what more could a man want in a woman?
That reminds me: just so no one forgets, Mon. November 22nd is my birthday. According to Janice, Tues. November 23rd is my “BERFday.” Also, apparently it is my “un-birthday?” Oh–and the 24th is my “un-BERFday,” while the 21st and 22nd are both my “pre-birthday” and “pre-BERFday,” respectively. I really have no idea what all this means and the only thing I can hope is that it means more presents, although that’s not very probable.
OH! One more thing! I had never gotten around to ordering any fencing equipment of my own–I’ve been using club equipment–so as a birthday (not BERFday) present, my dad said he’d get me a sword. I went ahead and ordered a mask and a jacket too from Triplette while I was ordering because it’d save shipping. I must say, however, I was quite disappointed with Triplette’s customer service. Whomever I spoke to on the phone really needs to 1) stop talking so loud and 2) never procreate. Who cares though–my stuff will arrive at home on Friday!
Unfortunately, that’s the end though. I am quite hungry now, so it’s off to the refrigerator for a tuna salad sandwich (I do love my tuna).
Shaun,
I read your diary like the bible, as a matter of fact it IS my bible. Much better than mine.
Jesus “My Cup Runneth Over and Shaun Fills It Up” Christ
I am truly blessed.
