The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
Another Sunday afternoon…
Sunday afternoons have to be the most boring of all afternoons. They don’t pack the same sort of panache that other afternoons have. Really, I think Saturday afternoon is the best afternoon in the calendar. The only problem is the total lack of programming on TV. That is, however, a problem with Sunday afternoon as well. So, I suppose Saturdays suck if you don’t have anything to do. That doesn’t compare to the early closing times of stores that plague Sunday afternoons. This is particularly a problem in Athens–luckily, I’m not in Athens right now.
Unfortunately, being in Dayton is not a blessing. It’s interesting because I actually have fewer friends to hang out with in Dayton than in Athens. Furthermore, things are two times as expensive in Dayton as in Athens. Pizza is no longer $7, it is now $14. The activity that has the most severe damage caused by price gouging is my favorite pasttime–the movies. Movies cost as low as $3 in Athens, while in Dayton around $9. That is, of course, not including the gas spent driving the half-hour to and from the movie theater. Really, the biggest killer is the added gas money. I can live on one tank of gas in Athens for three weeks without any sort of problem whatsoever. When I come home, suddenly my gas disappears faster than I can pump it. The movies, like I said, are much more expensive, but the gas affects every single activity.
Really, it doesn’t bother me as much as I’m laying it out here. It’s just that it’s a Sunday afternoon and I have nothing better to do right now.
Shaun you should try living up here and going to school. I wish that pizza was only $7, but sadly enough I live in Fairborn so things are jsut as expensive as Dayton. As far as gas goes I wish that I could use a tank for three weeks. I work in Xenia and have been driving between there and my apartment everyday…plus now I have to go to NL after work everyday this week! Ugh….call me sometime…
sometimes, i like to eat pie. when i feel like eating some pie, i cut a slice and eat it. it makes me happy, since its pie, and i am not pie.
Shaun,
I would like to see more foul language and corruption of the youth of America.
