The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
So, it’s Wednesday night.
I have been meaning to update, but I really just haven’t felt like it. I feel bad because I haven’t been updating as much as I should be. I chalk this up to the horrible feeling I get everytime I look at my design and realize I still haven’t fixed it. Working on the computer isn’t my idea of a fun time right now. I’m sure that will change eventually (I’ll get tired of whatever it is I’m doing now).
Last weekend, I went down to Athens. Actually, I didn’t go down on Friday, I went down on Saturday (I’ll pass on the bad joke there). I would say that I had fun. Beth, Angie, Maria and Betsy greeted me and all was well. We went to a hockey game, which was extremely boring. Well, to me it was boring; everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, but I just couldn’t get into it. Whenever I tried to concentrate on the game, circus music would start playing in my head. That sort of thing happens sometimes.
We also exchanged Christmas presents. Everyone seemed to like (at least, outwardly) their present I got them, which was excellent. I need to mail Andi hers. Perhaps I’ll do that soon, since it’s almost February. Angie got me Wine for Dummies both as a practical gift and, I assume, a way to mock me. I read it and was through the important parts by Sunday afternoon. Betsy got me something kind of cool that I plan on using for something in the near future—they were ninjas that come like those little army men people play with. Maria, with all her tact, managed to get me some chocolate and humiliate me at the same time. Really, I was quite impressed. Beth gave me a movie of which I’ve never heard, but am interested in all the same. It’s apparently a war movie with a lot of violence. I haven’t watched it yet (haven’t been in the movie mood lately—I burned myself out last week), but plan on it in the near future. I probably will Saturday afternoon. A+ everyone who got me stuff.
I came home from Athens on Sunday. Like I said, it was fun.
The rest of week has been, as it always is, the rest of the week. I’ve been really bad about going to one class. In fact, I’ve only been to one class in this one class—and that was the first class. This is the movie class. I haven’t missed much because I know most of what we’re going to go over, but I still feel extremely guilty because that’s three weeks I haven’t gone. I tell myself I’ll go, but every week, I end up like Peter from Office Space and I just don’t go.
I’ll go next week though.
Tonight, Jason and I went to do something because I hadn’t heard from him for approximately 50,000 years, give or take 49,999.99999923076923076923076923076923 years (in other words, two weeks). Being 21 years old has opened a world of possibilities in our entertainment choices, and as such, we entertained ourselves with a trip to Best Buy for a computer game and a trip to Rite Aid for arthritis medicine and chocolate milk (no joke). I feel Jason embodied both the young and old in the world with those purchases. Truly, it was a sight like no other.
Naturally, during our checkout ritual we tried to seduce the cashier who hated (and still hates) her job. We met with little success.
We headed home and after being dropped off, I read a sizeable chunk in my book, Catch-22. Speaking of which, I’m now trying to read this book whenever I can. I had started to read it a while ago, but lost interest. I picked it up the other day (2 days ago) for no apparent reason and started to read it again. After page 50, I really started to get into the book. I’m now on page 257. I don’t usually read that slow, but for some reason, I can’t read fast with this book. The print is small and crushed into the borders of the pages. Still, I feel I’m making satisfactory progress. It’s extremely difficult to pinpoint my favorite part, but one that certainly ranks up there is the story of Major Major Major Major (yes, there are 4 Majors there).
Until later…
