The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
Man, it’s been a week since I last updated. I really don’t mean to be slowing down so much in my updating, it’s just that I don’t really want to update until I can fix the design of the site. That job is rather large though; it probably won’t be done for a while. I think I’m just going to start updating more often and you will have to live with it messed up. My goal for updates is AT LEAST once a day. So, I’d be checking back in more often if I were you.
OK—like I said, it’s been a week since the last time I wrote and that means a lot has happened since then. For one, a new month has come and gone. It is now February 6 (2005, of course). On Monday, I don’t really remember what happened. Tuesday is pretty much a blur as well. So is Wednesday. Also, I don’t remember anything that happened on Thursday. I do, however, remember what happened on Friday and today.
Friday
Jason, Jacki and I had decided to do something because all of us had not hung out for a while. So, since the J-Rod was on medic duty (he’s a paramedic now, by the way… passed the test and everything) we had to stay in the general vicinity of New Lebanon. There is a conflict inherent in this situation: we wanted to do something, but there is nothing to do where we live. The solution was simple; we watched a movie.
Originally, we were going to watch Ray, but none of us could focus long enough to watch it, so we put in Orange County, a perfect movie in all respects. I should note that Jason found one of his friends (who Jacki and I did not know) at the Fire Dept. and invited her to watch a movie with us. Normally, this would be fine, but it was interesting that night because 10 minutes into the movie, Jason got a call and had to leave. So, there Jacki and I were—alone in Jason’s house with a complete stranger. We did what anybody placed in such a situation would do, and stayed in Jason’s house sporadically asking Mary (the stranger) how she was doing.
Eventually, Jason returned from his call—OH! It was funny when he left for the call because we heard the radio go off and the dispatcher said, “Attention Medic 69, reference a seizure at 305 W. Main St., Bruce is up there on the floor again.”
Anyway, Jason got back, the movie finished, Mary left rather quickly, and then Jason went to bed. So, there Jacki and I were with nothing to do. Since Jacki had to be at work at 11 and it was already 9, we didn’t have too many options. So, we headed to Starbucks in downtown Dayton (about 30 minutes away) to get some coffee.
Aside: Jacki and I have been hanging out a lot lately. Pretty much every day this week, we’ve done something. Really, this is not a good thing for anyone around us because we have caused each other to laugh all the way to dry heaves more times this week than I care to mention. It really has been one of the most hilarious weeks I’ve ever had. Jacki has got to be the funniest person I’ve ever met in my life.
After Starbucks and a lot of dry-heave laughing later, Jacki and I “rolled on up” to her workplace and I dropped her off. I headed home in an awkwardly quiet car and went to bed after looking up a lot of information about wedding photography.
Speaking of wedding photography, Bill (a friend) and Brandy (also a friend) are getting married. I was lucky enough to have them ask me to shoot their wedding. I am pretty excited and plan to buy a new camera for the event. I’m spending money because in order to do the best job for them, I really need an autofocus camera. It would be really nice to not have to buy one, but truly, I do. Obviously, I could not buy a new camera and get by with the one I have now, but 1) there is the possibility I would lose a lot of good shots, and 2) using the camera I have now wouldn’t be very professional. So, yeah.
Saturday
By now, I am pretty tired of writing, and you’re probably tired of reading. So, I’ll sum it up as quickly as I can. Jason, Jacki and I went to Taco Bell, I insulted a clerk there. We then went to the mall and saw puppies, lots of hot girls, a bench, and two guys headbutting each other (not really about that last one, but really… what if we did?). Next, we went to a LASER show at the Museum where we saw a raccoon eating trash out of a trash can, played Connect Four®, learned about the planets, and engaged in a rousing scavenger hunt while waiting for the show to start. Finally, we went to Starbucks, dry-heave laughed once again, and headed home.
The End
So, I have had a lot of fun this week, even though I really only remember two days of it. My face, cheeks and throat hurt from laughing so much, but it was one of the funnest times I’ve had in quite a while. Expect more and more updates in the future. Seriously, keep looking.
