The adventures of Shaun — a man revered as a god in some ancient cultures.
Thursday.
It’s almost that time of year again, Ladies and Gentlemen. In exactly one week, St. Patrick’s Day will be here. Personally, I don’t think I have anything special planned for this glorious holiday, but I think I probably should; I do have a drop or two of Irish blood running through my veins, after all. One would think I would be extremely excited and ready to drink as much as my body could tolerate, but alas, I am not. How very sad.
Deep down, I think I’m just surprised that it’s already March 10th. It seems like yesterday when it was January and my winter of discontent showed no signs of resigning itself to spring. Things have changed though; the calendar date of spring is only a mere 10 days away. Already, even, I can hear winter take its last few breaths of air before handing things over to spring.
Truly, it is a wonderful time.
Soon, the frost and snow will begin to melt. The bare trees and wilted flowers will begin to blossom and everything will progress from the savage fate of coldness to the rebirth of warmth and vitality.
Unfortunately, as I write this the wind is blowing with a fierce chill that could hack its way through a man’s soul. It is cold. The only thing that keeps me from going crazy is the arrival of spring, which is so close. Well, that’s not the only thing that keeps me sane, I guess. There are, of course, many bottles of whiskey. I mean, I AM Irish. Wouldn’t want to disappoint the ancestors, right?
That’s really all I wanted to say for today. To sum it up 1) I don’t drink, 2) I’m happy spring is (almost) here, 3) Whiskey keeps me sane. So, really all this entry was about was alcohol and the seasons. Not only that, but I managed to contradict myself in the end with the whiskey comment. I think my mission is complete. What mission you ask? The one where I make myself look like a fool.
Well, it’s Monday.
Since it has been a decent amount of time since I last updated, I thought I should throw something up. I wasn’t able to update at all this weekend because I went home and as such, had to deal with the horrible, horrible problems of dial-up Internet. I really should talk my parents into getting some type of broadband connection. Perhaps I’ll use charts and graphs.
